Hey everyone, I wanted to share a project I did a while ago for my nephew.
I have seen so many cute nursery decor pieces in the big box stores, but they all seem to be the same bright colors and silly creatures.
I wanted to give a unique and personalized gift to my sister-in-law for her baby shower, and wanted to incorporate the adorable name they picked. To hang above his crib I framed each letter of his name and added elements from his existing nursery decor (mainly frogs).
I chose to make the shadow layer 1/4" bigger and off set the letter to add more interest--hope it worked.
The letter is 3" and the shadow is 3.25" in the 4"x6" frame.
The frog at the bottom left is 1".
The frames I picked out were to match his crib. I think the finish works nicely with the light green cotton ribbon I used to hang them, adds contrast.
For the hanging loop I used about 6" of ribbon and stapled it to the back, taping the ends to keep them from fraying.
Each framed letter has its own 1" embellishment. To keep it cohesive I stayed with the same colors throughout.
Hope you can find a place for this unique gift in your (or your friend's) nursery!

Cute! Cute! Thanks for commenting on my "You're a Hoot!" owl project! Smiles, Jill
