Homemade Designer Pillows

I have been seeing these gorgeous pillows using felt to give some glorious dimension.  I decided to try my hand at creating some of my own.

These were pre-bought pillows so I had to do some deconstruction first.

After I took off the outer layer of fabric I cut leaves and the branch from fall colored felt.

To create the dimension with the leaves I folded them in half and sewed along the folded edge to the fabric. I flattened them a bit with my hand.


For the red pillow I pinned all the leaves in place before I started sewing.

I alternated which direction each leave was pointing to create that "flowing in the wind" look.









You can probably guess what these pillows looked like before, but I will show you anyway.
